| Well, little update for you guys. I know this thing has an avid following of readers. How many? 1? 2? Who knows?
I'm not complaining, just joking around. I have no clue how many people read this. *laughs*
Anywho, finally finished the songs for Thanksgiving. They came out well for the most part. If you want a listen, let me know, I'll find a way to get it to ya. I've also finished my first original song. Well, maybe not finished. I may go back and change a thing or too, but for the most part, done. At least until I can add bass and drums. Which may not be anytime soon. So done. For now.
In other news, the semester is winding down. Basically done with one class, only have to take the exam in another, and just a week and a half in the last two. Yay. NOTICE: I am leaving for Virginia on the 23rd! If we're going to hang out, (you know who you are), it has to be before then!
For those who don't know, tomorrow, December 8, is the one year anniversary of our loss of Dimebag Darrell. If you don't know, he was the guitarist for Pantera and DAMAGEPLAN. He was shot and killed last year during a show in Colombus, OH. So, if you have it, play his music loud and proud. You won't be forgotten, Dime. I'll be drinking a blacktooth for you. | | |

Well, looking forward to Thanksgiving. I'm leaving for Virginia Tuesday morning, will be back on Sunday.
Just to let people know how things are, I figured I'd update before heading to (slightly) warmer climates.
I'm
sure you got the picture from my review, but I had a blast at the
BNS/BLS concert. On other fronts, still working on the recording. I
have three songs done, and I'd like to have two more by Tuesday, so
aside from writing a 5 page paper, guess what I'm doing tonight! Of
course, I'm still looking for a balance on the recording volume. Before
I'd get this noise on higher/louder notes when I was singing. I've
gotten rid of that, but the overall sound is a lot more quiet than I'd
like. *sigh* Still, I'll work with what I have.
I'm already
planning on getting out of the apartment. The landlord and the
maintenance people have ticked me off. The laundry machine broke a
couple months back and they came out, said they had to order a part,
then disappeared for a month. They finally got back out there and then
they fixed it wrong, and the damn thing ate $3. So they finally come
BACK out and fix it right a week later. In the meantime I was going to
Farmington Hills to do laundry at my Dad's house.
Not sure if I
mentioned it on here or not, but my Dad got remarried in August. Never
occured to me to mention it, since it happened WAY under the radar.
Like, they went to the court house, signed the papers, then went out to
lunch with a the witnesses. Then went to Hawaii for a week. And sent my
Grandmother, (on my Mom's side), and my sister, (who doesn't like the
new step-mother), postcards. Neither are too happy with him, and I'm
not sure if my sister has talked to him since. I know she didn't call
him on his birthday. I know, because he harps on it. Suddenly I'M the
good kid. WTF??? Oh, he still thinks I slack off in school and doubts I
do any homework, despite only getting one grade below a B last year,
and questions my every move, but at least I call and talk to him.
*sigh*
I withdrew from my Geography class. I hadn't been in
two weeks and I had a test coming, and I knew that there was no way I
could pass that class, esp. with my first test grade. It was fun when I
told my Dad that. *grins* My Mom didn't care though. Then again, she's
not paying my tuition, my Dad is. *shrugs*
Things are ok with Claudia. We have our fights, but who doesn't?
So all in all, things are ok, but I'm glad that I'm getting a break.

| | You are Agnostic | You're not sure if God exists, and you don't care. For you, there's no true way to figure out the divine. You rather focus on what you can control - your own life. And you tend to resent when others "sell" religion to you. |

| Wow....just wow....last night was definately a great concert. Left from Eastern and decided to take a longer route because I wasn't sure about construction on 94. Turned out to be the right choice, cause I took 94 back, and it was torn up, down to two lanes, and shifted over to the eastbound lane at points. Would have been hell in rush hour. Anyway, I got there about half an hour before the doors opened and experienced the only low point of the day. I'd planned on getting there earlier than I did and waiting by the bus until half an hour before the doors open, but since that's when I got there, I just hopped in line. Well, about a minute after I get there I see Zakk get out of the bus, go talk to the people who were there, then hop in a van and drive off. Oops. Oh well, though, that wasn't going to keep me from having a good time!
They let us in, I made it through security with out a problem or being molested, bought the tour shirt, and made my way up to my seat. Brand New Sin hit the stage at about 7:30 to the tune of AC/DC's "Have a Drink on Me" and proceeded to kick some serious ass. I loved their cd, and they're even better live. They went through a good portion of their latest album, and a few of of their older. After they left it was just a matter of time.
At 9:00, the crowd goes nuts as Patsy Cline(pardon spelling) singing "Crazy" begins to play. It only gets wilder when the Godfather theme begins. Then the sirens go off and Black Label Society takes the stage. Most of the setlist was from Mafia and The Blessed Hellride, but they played Bleed for Me and Spoke in the Wheel. Speaking of, In This River and Spoke in the Wheel had Zakk on the keyboard, which was great. All in all, I had a great time! | Currently Listening Mafia By Black Label Society, Zakk Wylde Spread Your Wings see related |
